Through Parliamentary Observation and a Sangha Offering, participants will engage with both public institutions and cultural traditions, gaining a deeper understanding of the role and relevance of Buddhist culture in contemporary Canadian society.

Parliamentary Observation

Understanding Canada’s Parliamentary System

Participants will have the opportunity to access parliamentary spaces and observe how Canada’s democratic system operates in practice.

This component is designed to:

  • strengthen understanding of public institutions and governance processes
  • build connections between cultural initiatives and public policy
  • lay the foundation for informed and constructive institutional dialogue

This marks an important step in advancing cultural initiatives into the institutional sphere.

Sangha Offering

A Cultural Practice in a Contemporary Context

The Sangha Offering is a long-standing Buddhist tradition that reflects respect and support for the monastic community.

Within this program, the offering will be presented in a way that aligns with a modern public cultural context, demonstrating:

  • the continuity of Buddhist cultural traditions
  • the importance of community and spiritual heritage
  • how cultural practices can exist meaningfully within contemporary society
